Of course California is the birthplace of many mystical oddities, a good example being The Museum of Jurassic Technology, a museum whose queer objects make up the most amazing curation of quirky history we could only think to be as fiction. The Integratron is also another space oddity -- a built sound chamber to receive signals from aliens, et cetera.
