10 Things You Would Put in a Time Capsule by Danielle Kays

Slow and Steady Wins the Race has always addressed the issue of time by proposing ideas that balance the timely with the timeless.
For our blog we asked friends, family and other people we admire to share with us what they would put in a time capsule.
When we first met Danielle we were also introduced to an elegant, unassuming spot in Los Angeles : South Willard. A little while later we have been happy to continue our casual working relationship through wardrobe contributions for her costuming work in film. Her other hobbies include writing -- "and stressing". She grew up in Massachusetts and currently resides in Echo Park. We hope she visits New York again soon so we can grab a long overdue afternoon tea.

10 Things You Would Put in a Time Capsule
  1. My noise canceling headphones. They’ll look ridiculous in 2000 and question mark! All big and bulky, but I love them more than most acquaintances.
  1. A mix cd – barely relevant in its form, but an external hard drive is kind of a buzz kill. My mixes still consist of 80% older music, so I’d think it would be funny to confuse whoever opens the capsule - like, “I thought they were only allowed to listen to Lady Gaga in the old days”.
  1. A picture of an alien.
  1. A note saying: “Tweeting was the culprit, right? I knew it!”
  1. Freaks and Geeks boxset.
  1. My journal, cause by then, who cares? Actually I’ll still care. Scratch that.
  1. My boyfriends newly acquired green sneakers. I think he wants to wear them just cause they were free. Putting them in a time capsule is nicer than throwing them away.
  1. A preserved cheeseburger from the Apple Pan.
  1. A preserved cheeseburger from Pie and Burger.
  1. A note with 2 boxes to check – which burger was better?
