| Saturday | Store Profile : Revolution, Kuwait

An aptly named Revolution recently opened its doors this year in Kuwait -- it is perhaps the first of its kind -- an independent, off the beaten path store, in terms of the designers it carries and where it is physically located: in a hidden cove in the city's financial district.

Five items that would be on their Ultimate Wish List
1- Zadig and Voltaire
2- IRO
3- Miansai
4- Elizabeth and Cole Jewelry
5- Fausto Puglisi

About Revolution
Once upon a time, there were two Kuwaiti fashionable creatives who studied abroad and realized what there country was missing. They later came up with a concept that made their boutique stand out from the others.  Revolution Boutique was born in the middle of one of the oldest areas in Kuwait near the old souq - Its where modern meets old culture. All Designers are exclusive in Kuwait -- some even in the Middle East.

| SSWTR & Friends | Erik Wysocan at Andrea Rosen Gallery

"Pure abstract art
has grown directly from the culture and refinement of mundane life; from culture—imperfect as it may be. It does not come directly from isolated philosophical or religious thinking of feeling. Fashion has a deep meaning: fashion is cultural expression. Although it may be an exteriorization, like the various forms of art, it nevertheless shows inner content."

| 10 | Years of Slow and Steady Wins the Race

Slow and Steady Wins the Race debuted in 2002 with it's May/June issue , starting a calendar experiment on creating wearable things off calendar and celebrating the timeless with the timely. This year marks our 10th birthday. Pictured here is an example of one of our invitations, appropriately for the Birthday collection installation, at Kiosk in 2009. Stay tuned for more news ...

| Now | Tom Sachs “Space Program: Mars” , Park Avenue Armory

photo by Josh White for the New York Times

Artist Tom Sachs takes his SPACE PROGRAM to the next level with a four week mission to Mars that recasts the 55,000 square foot Wade Thompson Drill Hall as an immersive space odyssey with an installation of dynamic and meticulously crafted sculptures. Using his signature bricolage technique and simple materials that comprise the daily surrounds of his New York studio, Sachs engineers the component parts of the mission—exploratory vehicles, mission control, launch platforms, suiting stations, special effects, recreational amenities, and Mars landscape—exposing as much the process of their making as the complexities of the culture they reference.
